Do This - Meta Tags

Once upon a time meta tags were the secret lines of code that were hidden from the surfer, but helped put your site at the top of the search engines' results pages. Nowadays they are almost defunct.

Even though they are falling into to disuse with many search engines, we think, for the amount of time it takes, that it is still worthwhile to put them in.

The only tags that are in any way important are the keywords and description tags.

META NAME="keywords" - list the important keywords from the page in question. Do not stuff this area with words you are targetting that do not appear on the page!

META NAME="description" - write a short descriptive sentence or two to help searchers know exactly what is on the page. Write a seperate description for each page of the site.

There are search engines that publish the description meta tag under the title of the page on their results pages, so make them compelling, again, do not stuff this area with words you are targetting that do not appear on the page!
