Forums and Blogs
Another way to gain valuable information and knowledge about
search engine optimisation is to frequently visit SEO forums
and blogs. You can make new friends and contacts within the SEO
community. If you don't quite understand the terms 'forum' and
'blog' I will give you a brief definition. A forum is just another
term for a discussion board or message board, where people get
together to discuss and ask questions about the related topic
of interest. A blog is an online journal or 'weblog', updated
daily and again can be about a certain subject.
There are many different reasons why forums are great and
here are just a few.
- Forum's save all posts so people can look at them at any
time, this means that even past posts can be read again and again.
- Forum's allow you to access valuable educational information.
- If you visit a forum frequently you can build up your credibility
within a certain community.
- Forum's allow you to build relationship with like minded
people.
Blogs are also a very useful way of obtaining knowledge. There
are different types of blogs the daily journal blog where the
writer talks about what they had for breakfast and what their
friends are doing. Another type is the filter blog which is a
platform to discuss and pass on information - this is the type
of blog in the large list of blog's and forum's below.
Blog's can be useful in different way, here are some examples:
- Posting events, updates, announcement, news and other such
information.
- Blog's can be great for useful information, many bloggers
post their daily research etc for others that are interested
in the findings.
- Blog's can also share information about a topic of interest.
Any new knowledge or information can be passed on, and commented
upon by the readers (most blog's have an email feature where
you can email the writer).
