Do This - Accessibility

The issue of accessibilty is important to both the general public/surfer and the search engine robots and we recommend reading the information at Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) - click here.

If a passing surfer or an SE robot can't easily access all your pages, then you are making a fundamental error that will prevent you from becoming a high scorer.

Avoid javascript menus, stick to html wherever possible. If you are using images/buttons, give the image an alt description using your keywords if you can. Please do not abuse or overdo this as it goes against the very core of the accessibilty guidelines. Already, certain countries are bringing out laws to ensure that websites are accessible to the widest range of surfers, especially partly sighted or blind people.

Try to make your pages as simple as you can. Overly complex code can choke a visiting search engine spider.

Use clear, contrasting colours and logical page layout, with large pages divided up into easily read paragraphs. Despite the temptation, especially by "kewl" web designers, to use very small font sizes. For people with poor eyesight and older people, small text can be a pain, and they may click the "back" button, never to be seen again.
